Healthcare Assistant Study Day - a 1-day scheduled training course delivered from our training facility at 53 Tanner Street, London Bridge, SE1 3PL.
This training package is designed to provide Health Care Assistants (HCAs’) with the knowledge, skills and attitude to become more effective practitioners when participating and delivering care to patients within the home or the clinical settings
The course covers:
?Code of conduct for Health Care and Support workers
?Be aware of Legal and professional implications relating to their roles and responsibilities of the (HCAs)
?Raise awareness of the HCA code of conduct
?Develop knowledge to undertake allocated tasks
?Skills to identify the deteriorating patient
?Infection prevention and control
?Identifying normal vital signs and be able know when to escalate for help and immediate action
?Introductions to seizures, cerebral palsy and tracheotomy
?Complaints and how to avoid them
?Able to provide care to patient with PEGs feeding
?To be aware of the importance of moving and handling i.e. the use of hoist.
?Importance of documentation
?To raise awareness to the development of the changing nature of the HCA role.
